Ready for the Runway Show
After months of planning, on Sunday May 20, 2012 friends Naomi Citron and Noa Horvitz joined forces and blew the Manhattan fashion community away with their joint Bat Mitzvah Fashion Show Fundraiser held at Park East Synagogue in Manhattan.

Even up to the last few days before the event the young ladies continued to receive sponsors to help them with their event. So many amazing organizations got involved to donate their services, including food and raffle items, that the girls were able to raise over $5,000 entirely in profit of which 100% is going to benefit the Clothing Fund at the Children’s Home in Netanya!

Over 150 guests were in attendance where Naomi and Noa’s friends modeled clothing designs from Elie Tahari (who himself was raised in an Israeli orphanage), Boutique Volfe and Diva Kids. Guests participated in fashion sketching workshops and enjoyed raffles of designer jewelry from Jewelista, makeup and skin care products from Sisley-Paris, and Shimi 2 Zumba gift cards. Everyone munched on delicious food from My Most Favorite Food restaurant and Chocolate Works NYC, sponsored in part by ASG Real Estate.

The event was so inspiring and the girls brought so many people together that Jewelista was even inspired to donate 20% of proceeds from items bought on their website, http://www.jewelista.com/, to Lev LaLev!

Just enter offer code Lev2012 at checkout (valid until December 2012) and Lev LaLev will receive 20% of the sale!

Our heartfelt thanks and Mazal Tov wishes go to the amazing Bat Mitzvah girls Naomi and Noa and their families!

It's been a busy few weeks here at Lev LaLev but we always love the opportunity to meet our supporters, and supporters-to-be, in person!

It all started off with the Yom Ha'azmaut (Israel Independence Day) celebrations on April 26th. Yours truly, Sheena Levi, headed to the Rosenbaum Yeshiva Of North Jersey
while Lev LaLev's Director of Development, Rachel Weinstein traveled to Hebrew Academy of Nassau County .

The schools were participating in a special Israel Mitzvah Day and volunteered to make bookmarks and hats to send to the orphaned girls at the Lev LaLev Rubin-Zeffren Children's Home in Netanya.

Leora and her Mom selling Lemonade at the Yard Sale
That weekend, I had the chance to meet Leora, a Mitzvah girl who was hosting a yard sale to help her raise funds to sponsor the Bat Mitzvah of girl living at the orphanage.

The night before another Bat Mitzvah girl hosted a singles event to help support the Lev LaLev Bridal Fund.

After some time to gather more materials, once again Rachel and I divided our talents.

On Sunday May 6th, Rachel attended the Nanuet Hebrew Center Mitzvah Fair hosted by Areyvut and received a lot of interest in our Swim-A-Thon coming up this summer!

Sheena at Noam
Finally, last night, Monday May 7th I had the pleasure of representing Lev LaLev at Yeshivat Naom's Bnai Mitzvah Fair.

Also organized by Areyvut, I got the chance to speak to 5th and 6th graders learning all about how they can truly put the Mitzvah in Bar and Bat Mitzvah! Later on I got to meet their parents and the excitement from their daughters which they expressed to me was truly inspiring. Many of them even signed up to receive my monthly BBMessenger Bat Mitzvah Newsletter. Do you receive it?

If you know of a Mitzvah Fair that you think Lev LaLev should attend please let me know: sheena@levlalev.com

Looking forward to meeting you at the next fair or mitzvah project!

I am so excited, and it is my honor, to announce this amazing Mitzvah Project to benefit the Lev LaLev clothing fund (an $85,000.00 a year need) for the orphaned and disadvantaged girls living at the Rubin-Zeffren Children's Home in Netanya, Israel.
It has been truly inspirational seeing everything come together for this event. Even the amazing designer Elie Tahari, whose fashions will be showcased, grew up in an Israeli orphanage and made his way to New York City with less than $100 in his pocket.

Other sponsors include Sisley Paris cosmetics and Diva Kids fashions, with delicious food from the famous gourmet Manhattan kosher restaurant: My Most Favorite!

The best part is, YOU are invited to join this event!

Please RSVP to NoaAndNaomiFundraiser@gmail.com soon and get ready to have an amazing time while doing a mitzvah at the same time!
